HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS' FALL BIBLE STUDY

THE GOSPEL OF JOHN

SAVORING THE PEACE OF JESUS

IN A CHAOTIC WORLD

DAY 9

Friday, September 27
Scripture: John 6:1-21

Book Pages: 56-61

Main Idea: We can savor peace by embracing Jesus for who He revealed Himself to be, rather than who we want Him to be.

Read John 6:1-5

•Today, we're examining how scripture informs our knowledge of who Jesus is. Often times, our own personal point of view impacts how we see Jesus. What does your image of Jesus look like?

•Why was the crowd following Jesus?

•What question did Jesus ask Phillip?

Read John 6:6-9

•Who were the two disciples involved? What were their thoughts on the hunger of these people?

•Jesus was testing His disciples to teach them. Is He testing you in any way right now?

Read John 6:10-11

•In this moment, Jesus' intervention reminds us that we don't need to live in a scarcity mentality, because God is not limited. Are there areas of your life where your thinking needs to expand regarding God's power to intervene?

Read John 6:12-13

•Why did Jesus say to gather up the leftovers?

Read John 6:14-15

•Who did the people decide Jesus was? What did He do about it?

•Have you seen people twist their understanding to fit their mold?

Read John 6:16-21

•What did Jesus call out to the men in the boat?

•Where is He calling you to release fear?

Close in prayer, asking Jesus to help you release fear and savor His peace.
